A Pathway to Healing
I am committed to helping individuals heal from the impact of overwhelming life events, including grief, loss, and trauma. My work focuses on examining the relationships and experiences that shape you, which lead to a path of healing, a path to your authentic self.
I believe in taking a collaborative approach with clients. I am passionate about providing a safe space for you to share and process feelings, which allows for self compassion and understanding to grow. Together we will explore how your life was shaped and the events that impact you, which unlock solutions unique to you. You are the expert on you-your unique experiences contain a wealth of information and clues for healing, waiting to be uncovered.
Knowledge is power, and psycho-education is a key component of the therapy I provide. You'll be empowered with tools from the field of brain science and relationship studies. You will make better sense of yourself, your body, and your relationships as we explore the findings of interpersonal neurobiology, attachment science, and trauma research.
Additionally, I bring several specialized tools to the therapy room. These include EMDR, Coherence Therapy, Parts Work, and the Three Pillars Model/Ideal Parent Figure, a treatment for complex PTSD. Moreover, I am Theraplay trained and have over 20 years of work in the foster care community and adoption world. I deeply understand the needs of hurt children, parents and humans.
We are social beings and do not heal alone - we heal in relationship with others. Without support, stressful events can lead to overwhelm, uncertainty, and a feeling of isolation. Stress and trauma left untreated can result in anxiety, depression, or PTSD. Counseling can help, you do not have to suffer alone.
I work with teens, adults, and parents, age 13 and up. Please contact me for a free, brief consultation to discuss if I am a good fit for you.
